SUMMER HAIR EXTENSION CARE

  • As always, use a moisturizing sulfate free shampoo

  • try to avoid getting saltwater and chlorine in your hair. However, if you plan to do so be sure to wet your hair with tap water first, as this will stop the chlorine/ saltwater from being adsorbed as much. After wetting hair, apply a leave in conditioner to the extensions, being sure to avoid the bonds/ roots. Put your hair in a braid and after exposing hair to chlorine/ saltwater be sure to wash it in a timely manner.

  • keep self tanner away from your extensions as it can stain your hair

  • wash hands after applying sunscreen so you don’t mistakenly transfer the residue to your extensions as some sunscreens can discolour extensions

  • do not over wash extensions as this can cause them to dry out (oily hair wash 2-3 days/ 4-5 days if hair is drier) use dry shampoo between washes, if needed

  • UV rays can lighten extensions and dry them out. Wear a hat or utilize a sun shade when possible.

  • brush hair 2-3 times a day to prevent tangling

  • never sleep with wet hair. Braid hair or wear in a loose ponytail to bed. A silk pillow case is a bonus!

  • leave in conditioner/ moisturizing serums are your best friends!
